  19. Try setting the base transparency value to 100% and using falloff on
  20. your transparency map to fade out the edges. You can also set your base
  21. color to 0,0,0 and use additive as an additional transparency channel,
  22. using the grid texture as a color to put the correct color back into the
  23. main part of the object, again using falloff to fade the edges.
